You have probably received this information already from many sources, however, in case you haven’t, the requirement for all Company Directors to have a Digital Director’s ID is being enforced, and must be completed by all Directors by 30th November 2022. There is a risk of a $13,000 fine for not having this completed on time. So time is running out!

You need a Director Identification Number (Director ID) if you’re a Director of a company, registered Australian body, a registered foreign company, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporation.

The process of applying for a Director’s ID is easiest completed if you already have MyGov ID setup on your mobile device or tablet via the MyGov ID app.

Then to complete a digital ID application head to https://www.abrs.gov.au/director-identification-number/apply-director-identification-number and complete the simple steps to identify yourself and apply for your Director ID number.
